Seward County Commission Meets, Approves Pandemic Pay for County Employees

The Seward County Commission met Tuesday evening for a Special Meeting and approved the insurance renewal for Seward County with Al Shank Insurance with a premium amount of $603,687.00

Several CRF requests were discussed and approved and Ron Oliver was appointed to the Planning and Zoning Board, while Julia Thompson and John West were appointed to the Council on Aging Board.

Website redesign was approved in the amount of $12,05.60 and the Commission extended until March 21st, the County’s Families First Coronavirus Response Act.

After originally deciding to wait until January to decide on Pandemic Pay for County employees, Commissioner Line broker brought it back up towards the end of the meeting with a motion to approve the pay. The Commission approved the item with the 5% bonus for the following departments:

Health Department $43,658.16

EMS $27,820

Sheriff’s Department $36,754.67

Jail $28,647.84

Emergency Management $4,326.40

Fire $9,716.72

Commissioners also approved to keep the testing sight and temporary employees through at least March 13th.
