Seward County Commission Meets, Approves Motor Grader Purchase

The Seward County Commission met on Monday evening and after hearing updates from Kirkham, Michael, on Workers Compensation, and the Tax sale, awarded the Seward County Fights Addiction Grant to Cimarron Basin Community Corrections and JCAPS.

The Commission in an added item, approved the purchase of a Tilt Trailer for the Landfill from Hills Equipment in the amount of $8,350.00

The Commission approved the renew of their Annual Subscription with ClearCo. ClearCo offers a workforce management program to the County. Commissioners were also informed of the approval of the Facility Fee Waiver for Crossroads Center, Inc. for the Ranch Rodeo.

The Commission approved the Purchase of a Cat 140 Motor Grader with a free five-year or 7500-hour 100 percent warranty with travel from Foley Cat at $310,980.00 The County was given a trade in allowance $45,000.00 for a total of $265,980.00.

After discussion, the Commissioners and Road & Bridge Management Team decided to purchase a D6 Cat Bulldozer from Foley Cat in the amount of $497,234.00

The Commission moved to purchase the new FTR recording equipment from Voice Products to replace the outdated FTR equipment in place now in all four courtrooms at a cost of $30,280.00, and approved a 32-inch touchscreen computer and kiosk stand system, for Restlawn Cemetery.
