Seward County Commission Approves Land Use Permit

The Seward County Board of County Commissioners met at 5:30 pm Monday evening, and after a recommendation of the Planning and Zoning Board, gave approval of a Conditional Use Permit Application CU2024-01 submitted by Cornelio Froese to utilize a residential parcel for commercial use.

The Commission heard the status of the Remodel project at the Court House as well as issues potentially resulting in change orders.

Approved was the lease purchase agreement between Seward County Rural Fire District and Republic First National Bank for the purchase of Self Contained Breathing Apparatus for the Seward County Fire Department, as was the bid from B&G Services for a kiosk building at Restlawn Cemetary in the amount of $52,494.00 to be paid from County Building.

Also approved was the purchase of two new Sharp MFP’s from Southern Office to replace the ones currently in place and out of their lease agreements in the offices at Register of Deeds and County Attorney.

Assigned Chairman Scott Carr as a delegate and Commissioner Wettstein as the 1st alternate for voting purposes at the KAC 49th Annual Conference in December 2024 were
