Seward County Commission Approves General Obligation Bonds for Overlay Projects

The Seward County Commission met Monday evening and heard updates on the Ambulance Build and Cot Shipping from EMS Director John Ralston, Tax Sale Update and Tax Recovery from Mary Rose and Nathan Foreman and an update from Kirkham Michael.

Commissioners approved the Engineering Agreement outlining Construction Engineering Services for the overlay project not to exceed $364,401.20 with Kirkham Michael and approved the proposal from PEC for geotechnical work for Massoni Bridge in the amount of $9,980.00 to be paid from Special Highway Fund.

The Commission approved the agreement to retain Stifel, Nicolaus & Company, Incorporated as a financial advisor to Seward County, Kansas for the proposed General Obligation Bonds for Road Overlay Project. Seward County has bid 28 miles of overlay projects for 2025. The bid was awarded to J&R Sand Company.

Commissioners approved annual contract with Hay, Rice & Associates for the 2024 audit of Seward County, Kansas in the amount of $55,900.00.
