The Seward County Commission met on Monday evening and after hearing updates from the Tax Recovery and Kirkham Michael, approved 2025 Insurance Renewal with Iron Insurance Partners. Also approved was Change order #2 for the Courthouse remodel. This Change order is in the amount of $21,465.00, bringing the revised project total to $903,918.53.
The Commission approved the Contract Amendment with a new “Not to Exceed” contract amount of $1,137,296.00 for the remodel.
Commissioners approved special check from the Clerks Office for Waste Haul Mobile Equipment 5486 in the amount of $124,300.00 to pay for a new truck that was delivered to SEC for installation of a trash body for the Landfill, and approved the updated Solid Waste Management Plan.
The Board also approved Barbara Nash, Jacob Fitzgerald, and Tessa Wright at $4,000.00 per month, per contract for Professional legal services as the Attorney or Attorney/Guardian ad Litem for juveniles in cases filed in the Seward County District Court under the Kansas Juvenile Justice Code and the Kansas Code for Case of Children, as well as, Attorney/Guardian ad Litem duties for proposed patients in cases brought pursuant to the Care and Treatment Act.
Due to different Holidays that fall on Commission meeting days, the board approved the following changes in meeting days: Monday, January 20, 2025, to Friday, January 17, 2025, Monday, February 17, 2025, to Tuesday, February 18, 2025 and
September 1, 2025, to Tuesday, September 2, 2025.
In an added item, the Commission approved the IWork contract in the amount of $25,176.00.
