The Seward County Commission met Monday evening and heard from Seward County Economic Development Director Eli Svaty regarding an interested business looking to purchase the old Health Department on 2nd Street. The Commission voted to get an appraisal of the property then put the building up for bids.

The Commission selected Dr. Dennis Knudsen for a 3 year term and Tony McKee and John West to 2 year terms on the Hospital Board and approved the closing of the Covid testing site, release the temporary employees, but keep the Site Manager on for cleanup and move the Vaccine Coordinator to the Health Department. The Commission also appointed Darlyn Decamp to the Fair Board.

Commissioners approved the airport leases for the Sheriffs Department and the Event Center, approved the KnowBefore Security Subscription, and approved the submittal of the 2023 Comprehensive Plan for Community Corrections to the Kansas Department of Corrections.
