A one vehicle accident occurred Monday morning at approximately 7:16 am in Morton County in the Eastbound lane of K51 at mile marker 29.

A 2025 Peterbilt semi being driven by David Ray Sherwood, 61, of Garden City, was traveling Eastbound on K51. Sherwood failed to navigate a curve, crossed the centerline and ran off the road on the North side of K51. The semi continued Eastbound through the ditch and across Road 23 before coming to rest East of Road 23 facing East in a field.

Sherwood was taken to the Morton County Hospital with suspected serious injuries.
