Schroeder Lands 5-a Oklahoma Job

Tom Schroeder has officially been named the head football coach and athletic director at Stilwell, Oklahoma in eastern Oklahoma near the Arkansas border. Schroeder stepped down as Liberal’s head coach but has been working in the district since his resignation shortly after the 2008 season. Jeff Brown will be Schroeder’s defensive coordinator at Stilwell after two years as D-coordinator at LHS. Schroeder coached the Redskins to a 5-5 season after a 4-6 season in 2007 and a 2-8 season in 2006. Schroeder coached Hugoton to the tune of a 37-21 record after taking over an Eagle program which had two wins the previous three seasons. The Stilwell Indians were 0-10 last year and 7-4 two years ago. That was their only winning season this decade. Tulsa Union defensive coordinator Wade Standley will coach LHS next year and begins work in the district June 1.
