LIBERAL, Kan. – Seward County Community College is under contract to acquire property in Liberal to expand its truck driving and diesel technology programs.
The agreement was approved by the SCCC Board of Trustees at a special meeting on Friday. The property, which has an existing facility on site, will be acquired with federal grant and private funds.
“We’re excited to purchase an existing building instead of having to bear the cost of new construction,” SCCC President Brad Bennett said. “It’s an excellent site for our truck driving and diesel technology program and can be used for future expansion. It made perfect financial sense for the college, being paid for with grant and private funds. It was the right deal for the college.”
