SCCC hosts July 4 game, activities free to the public

There will be baseball, food, fun, and of course, fireworks this Monday on the Fourth of July at Brent Gould Field on the Seward County Community College campus.

SCCC is proud to host the annual holiday extravaganza, which starts off with a picnic, followed by Liberal Bee Jays ballgame and ending with fireworks.

The public display of fireworks is being sponsored once again by Community Bank, the City of Liberal, and Seward County

Fellowship Baptist Church will provide a picnic with a hot dog feed, bouncy houses, and plenty of games for the entire family starting at 2:30 p.m. in the area immediately adjacent to the field on the SCCC main campus.

After the picnic, the Bee Jays will take on the Dodge City A’s at 7 p.m., with a fireworks display following the game.

Parking will be permitted in all normal parking lots on campus, except the dorm/softball field parking lot that is reserved for the Student Living Center residents. There is no parking allowed between the dorms and softball field.

Guests should also note that SCCC does not allow use of personal fireworks on campus, including the Hale Court dorm area and the Industrial Technology Campus.

When the official fireworks display is over, campus security requests that drivers exit the respective parking lot in a right-turn only fashion, to expedite traffic flow.
