A single-vehicle crash left one person dead and another seriously injured in Gray County on Sunday morning.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says just after 5:30 a.m. Sunday, a 2007 Ram 3500 was eastbound on K144 when the driver failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of K144 and U56.
The truck hit a KDOT post, crossed U56, entered the south ditch and rolled once and ejecting both the driver and passenger.
The driver, 22-year-old Edgar Rios-Meraz of Satanta was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The passenger, Yensin Mabel Servin-Shavez, 18, was seriously injured and was taken to a Wichita hospital for treatment.
