A three-vehicle crash in Finney County on Friday afternoon left one woman dead and three others injured.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says just after 2 p.m. Friday, two vehicles were southbound on US Highway 83, about ten miles south of Garden City.
A 2014 Chevy Equinox, being driven by 23 year old Cesar Pena of Lakin, slowed and stopped to make a left-hand turn onto Parallel Road.
A 2019 Ford F150, being driven by Elizabeth Gossman, 43, of Garden City, rear-ended the Equinox, pushing the vehicle into the northbound lane of travel.
A third vehicle, a 2014 Ford F250, driven by Jon Ungles, 58, of Satanta, crashed into the driver’s side of the Equinox. The F150 and the Equinox came to rest in the roadway and the F250 came to rest in the ditch to the northeast of the intersection.
Gossman was pronounced dead at the scene. Another occupant of the Equinox, a 14-year-old girl, suffered minor injuries.
Ungles suffered minor injuries. A passenger in the vehicle, 52-year-old Catrina Ungles, also of Satanta, suffered minor injuries as well.
Pena was not injured.
