The Seward County Saints tossed at 2-2-1 match up zone press at the Midland Chaparrals Friday night.  It worked.  The Saints beat the Midland Chaparrals 59-48 Friday night at the Chaparral Center in Midland.
The Saints held Midland to 32 percent shooting and forced 20 turnovers.  The Saints won despite Midland out rebounding the Saints 36-24.
The 24th ranked Saints led 26-17 at the half.  SCCC built a 28-18 lead early in the second half before the Chaps went on a 15-2 run and the Saints offense sputtered.  Midland led 33-30.  Seward used a 15-1 run keyed by a pair of Kyle Cardaci three pointers.  He hit a three to tie the game at 33 and a three pointer to lead 38-33.  The Saints built a 45-34 lead with 8:56 to play.
Greg Johnson paced the Saints with 12 points, five rebounds, and four steals.  Nika Metskhvarishvili had 11.  Cardaci had 10.
