The 2023 Seward County Saints have set two school records. On March 30, they scored a school record 30 runs at Garden City. Tuesday, they topped that with a 35-25 win at Clarendon. The Saints banged out 25 hits and four home runs in the win.
The Bulldogs led 2-1 after one and 4-3 after two. Seward scored seven in the third and Clarendon scored four to make it 10-8 SCCC after three. The Bulldogs growled back in the fourth as the Saints scored one but Clarendon plated nine to take a 17-11 lead after four. But the Saints scored 13 in the fifth and 11 in the sixth and won the game in a run rule after six innings.
Clarendon pitching walked 10 Saints and SCCC walked eight Clarendon hitters. Seward out-hit Clarendon 25-21.
Jordan Crowder, Brody Boisvert, Connor Cox, and Tristan Curless hit home runs. Elijah Bear was 4-5 with three RBI’s and five runs. Todd Baffa, Jordan Crowder, and Brody Boisvert had three hits a piece. Boisvert drove home four runs and Crowder had three RBI’s. Connor Cox was 2-2 with five RBI’s and four runs. Ranse Radtke was 2-4 with four RBI’s and Tristan Curless was 2-4 with three RBI’s. Tucker Livermore was 2-4 with four RBI’s.
Clarendon is 14-13. Seward is 26-21 and has won five straight. The Saints play at Dodge City Thursday at 1pm with Saints Dugout Show at 12:45 on 1270 and 92.3.
