Friday afternoon the Saints and Lady Saints Tennis teams began their 2024 seasons on the road against McMurry University where both groups went a perfect 9-0 on the day in doubles and singles competition to start the season off 1-0 for the men’s and women’s tennis teams.
All three double teams for the Saints grabbed wins against McMurry with the combo of Sammy Antwi and Cem Atlamis going 8-0 against their opponents. In singles action all six Saints took care of their competition in two sets to take down McMurry with ease including Antwi knocking off his opponent 6-0 in both sets.

- Richy Patte defeated Greenwald: 6-4, 6-1
- Antoine Adamiak defeated Flores: 7-5, 6-3
The Lady Saints saw the same level of success on the road with all three double teams knocking off their opponents with relative ease as the pairing of Polya Nikolova and Josefina Bailetti winning 8-1 over their adversaries. All six singles ended with Seward County grabbing wins in every match with no McMurry player scoring more than three points.

Seward County Lady Saints tennis will be back in action tomorrow against Angelo State with a noon start time while the men’s team will wait until next week to continue their hot streak.
