Saints Sweep Colby on the Road for Series Win

For the first time this season, the Saints baseball team has won a Jayhawk West series. Seward took to over Colby 11-8 and 17-1 Saturday afternoon at Colby.
Seward got off to a great offensive start in game one scoring five in the first, one in the second, and four in the third. The Trojans scored in the second and third to make it 10-2 Seward after three. Colby came alive offensively with four in the fourth and two in the fifth to make it 10-8. The Saints scored a run in the sixth. The Saints out hit the Trojans 18-8. Wyatt Grant had four hits. Braden Boisvert and Jonathan Cantu had three hits a piece. Mason Martinez went 4 and 2/3 Dylan Lopez pitched 2 and 1/3 innings.
Seward poured it on in game two with 11 runs in the first and six in the seventh. AJ Folds and Braden Boisvert had three hits a piece. Boisvert had six RBI’s. Wyatt Grant drove home four runs. Dylan Day pitched six strong innings for Seward striking out 10. Braden Boisvert pitched one inning.
Seward improve to 9-14 overall and 6-6 in the Jayhawk West while Colby falls to 9-15 and 5-7 in the Jayhawk West. Seward hosts Frank Phillips Tuesday at 3 at Brent Gould Field. The next KSCB broadcast is game one Thursday at 1 at Dodge City on 1270 and kscbnews.net.
