Saints Split Double Header at Northeastern

KSCB News - February 15, 2010 12:00 am

The Saints squandered a chance for an opening season sweep at Northeastern Colorado Saturday in Sterling. The Saints won game one 8-3 behind right Jared Wagner. They led 7-3 in the eighth of game two but committed four errors during the final two innings and lost 11-9. Jared Broadbent and Luke Campbell blasted two homers a piece while Quay Grant homered and tripled. The Sunday games were cancelled due to the cold weather. The Saints double header Tuesday with Clarendon has been moved from Liberal to Clarendon due to melting snow on Brent Gould Field. The double header will begin at noon Tuesday in Clarendon. The Bulldogs will travel to Liberal to play the Saints March 10.
