It took overtime for the Seward County Saints to defeat the State College of Florida Manatees 79-77 Thursday night in Bradenton, Florida.  The Saints came out ready to play building a 9-0 lead.  The game was tied 25-25 with 3:19 to play in the first quarter.  The Saints of Seward led SCF 35-31 at the half.  With 9:53 to play, Seward maintained a lead of 54-50.  Seward led State College of Florida 63-60 with 4:10 to play and 68-66 with 1:23 remaining.  With 1:06 to play, the home team Manatees tied the game at 69-69.  Seward had the ball on the final possession but did not score so the game went to overtime.  Seward led 75-72 with 2:28 to play in overtime on a Taye Donald mid range jumper.  Bee McCary’s scooping lay up gave the Saints a 79-77 lead with .4 seconds left.  That would be the difference.  Seward goes to 7-7 and SCF is 11-7.  The Saints play at Barton Wednesday night at 7:30 on B107.5 and the KSCB and The Legend App.
