Saints Sail into Break with Overtime Win

The Saints are 5-4 at the Christmas break after their frenetic 87-82 win over Neosho County in Chanute Saturday evening.
Seward led 37-30 at the half and 58-48 early in the second half before a 20-6 run gave the Panthers a 68-64 lead. The game was tied at 74-74 and went to overtime for Seward’s first overtime game of the season. The Panthers bolted to a 79-74 lead in OT. A Ke’Sean Johnson three pointer gave the Saints an 80-79 lead. Seward never trailed again despite missing five of their last eight free throws. Seward made 18-31 at the foul line. The Saints made 48 percent from the field while Neosho shot 43 perecent.
Isiah Small had 22 points and eight rebounds. Hegel Augustine had 16 points and 11 rebounds. Davis had 17. Mo Selmi had 11 points and six rebounds. Jamel Horton dropped in 10.
The Saints are 9-4 overall and 5-4 in the Jayhawk. Neosho is 3-6 in the conference. Seward hosts Independence January 3.
