Polk State beat the Seward County Saints in Bradenton, Florida on Wednesday afternoon.  The Eagles, from the FCSAA, topped the Saints 77-69.  The Saints took an early 8-7 lead and trailed 25-21 before facing a 38-31 deficit at halftime.  With 12:24 to play, the Saints trailed the Eagles 56-49.  With 5:30 to play, Polk State stretched their lead to 69-57.  The Saints used a 6-0 run to cut the lead to 69-63 with 4:04 to play.  An Erik Pratt jumper pulled the Saints to within two at 71-69 with 2:01 to play.  But the Saints didn’t score again in the loss.  Seward County allowed Polk State to shoot 53 percent.  There were no SCCC game statistics available.  Seward falls to 7-8 and will play at State College of Florida Manatee-Sarasota Thursday evening at 5 pm.
