Saints Go Cold in Colby

The Seward County Saints had a rough offensive night without one of their best offensive players.  Without Ke’Sean Davis, who is serving a two game suspension, Seward made just 36 percent of their shots on the way to a 68-62 loss at the Colby Community Building on Saturday night.  The Saints sank just 4-20 three pointers in their third straight loss at Colby.

The Saints built an early 10-6 lead before the Trojans claimed  a 26-14 advantage.  Colby led 28-17 and led 33-31 at halftime.  The game see sawed back and forth in the second half.  The Saints had a 55-54 lead with 3:59 to play when an official ruled that a Saint player flopped after being boxed out on a Colby free throw.  The momentum then swung in Colby’s favor with the Trojans ripping off a 10- run to lead 64-55.

Isiah Small had 17 points and 10 rebounds despite playing sick.  Terrell Alfred provided some juice off the bench with 11 points.  Seward’s defense only generated five steals and the offense had only nine assists.

Seward is 10-5 and 6-5 in the Jayhawk while Colby is 11-4 and 7-4 in the KJCCC.  The Saints play at Dodge City on Wednesday at 8 on 107.5 and kscbnews.net.
