LIBERAL, Kan. – The Seward County Community College Esports team has achieved a milestone moment in school history, earning its first-ever championship title.

Team members Henry Perez and Osiel Ventura emerged victorious in the NJCAAE T3 Spring Fortnite (B) Series, edging out Northwest College in a thrilling 3–2 series on Tuesday. Their win marks a major achievement for the growing Esports program at SCCC and sets a high bar for future competitors.

With sharp teamwork, strategy, and clutch gameplay, Perez and Ventura not only brought home the title—they became the first champions to do so for SCCC Esports, etching their names into the college’s record books.

The Saints Esports program began in Fall of 2023 under Head Coach Eric Volden. Along Fortnite, the program also competes in Marvel Rivals, Smash Bros., Madden NFL, Mario Kart, Valorant and Rainbow 6.
