Saints Break Through Against Barton

That’s more like it. The Seward County Saints played their best game in a couple of weeks in a key 77-59 win over Barton at the Green House Saturday night. The Saints break a tie for first in the Jayhawk West and sweep the season series with the #9 Cougars. The Saints have seven straight wins over Barton.
The Saints shot 54 percent and held Barton to 38 percent shooting.
Kaheem Ransom led the Saints with 22 points while Irvin Hollinger added 16 points and eight rebounds. Trey Starks added 12. Seward held Barton freshman Algie Key to six points which is 13 under his average.
The Saints led 33-23 at halftime and never looked back.
The #12 Saints are 19-4 overall and 7-2 in the Jayhawk West and back in first. The #9 Cougars are 20-3 overall and 6-3 in the Jayhawk West. The Seward win snaps a six game Barton winning streak.
The Saints play Colby who is in second at 6-2 in the conference Wednesday night at 8 p.m. at the Colby Community Building.
