Liberal, KAN. – The Seward County Saints baseball team was able to find a lot of success on the field during the 2024 season and they matched that with their success in the classroom which earned them national recognition, being named a recipient of the 2023-2024 ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award. This award acknowledges the top academic performances from every baseball team throughout the NCAA, NJCAA, NAIA, and High School levels with an overall GPA above 3.0. This is the fifth time that Seward County baseball has earned this award, having earned it in 2016, 2019, 2021, 2023 and now 2024 for the second straight year.
For the second time this year Seward County baseball has been acknowledged for their work in the classroom after being recognized by the NJCAA as one of the best academic teams of the 2023-2024 school year with an average GPA of 3.26. with eleven players being named to the NJCAA All-Academic teams including six players who earned First Team honors with a perfect 4.0 GPA average.
