The Seward County Saints baseball team had to sit around snowed in this past weekend instead of making a trip to Great Bend to take on Barton County. The heavy snowfall was still to much to play the scheduled series on Monday, so both teams met in Hays to play. The Saints took game one 14-5. Bobby Doran gave up just two earned runs and stuck out seven. Doran improves to 4-2 from the mound this season. Todd Glime led the Saints bats with three home runs and six RBI’s in the win. Travis Parker and Trent Martinez each added homers. Seward came up short in game two though losing 3-1. The Saints had just two hits. Corey Collins gave up just two earned runs and struck out eight in teh loss. Collins drops to 5-1 on the season. Seward is now 19-11 overall and 8-6 in the Jayhawk West. The Saints will square off with Barton again on Tuesday with game one beginning at around 6 p.m. Stay tuned to 1270 AM and kscb.net around that time for updates on when the game will start.
