Tyler Rockafellow returned to the Liberal Bee Jays Friday night with a strong start to buoy the boys in blue to a 7-1 win over the Aurora Bombers at Brent Gould Field. The Midland right hander pitched six and two-thirds innings allowing one run in the win. The Bee Jays started strongly offensively again. One night after scoring seven in the first, Liberal plated five in the first against the Bombers.

Rockafellow’s start was followed by Molloy’s Justin Jorgenson who pitched one and two-thirds scoreless before Texas-Arlington’s Kasey Merck closed it out with a scoreless ninth.

One night after Angelo State catcher Toby Semler homered, Texas-Arlington’s Greg McCall homered twice. One of last year’s NBC heroes Blake Bergeron of Nicholls State was 2-4 in his first game. Northwood’s Eddie Arroyo and Texas-Arlington’s Ryan Walker were 2-4.

The BJ’s are 3-0 and host the Aurora Bombers again Saturday night at 7 p.m. at Brent Gould Field. Epic PCS is the buyout sponsor and will give away three phones during the game. Liberal Parks and Recreation teams will run the bases during the game.
