Riley and Shellenberger Make State

Liberal boys qualify two for the state golf tournament in Salina! It was a hot and long day on the Auburn Hills Golf Course in Wichita, but Cameron Riley and Dylan Shellenberger found a way to score and qualified as individuals for state. Only two players in the tournament shot in the 70s, so Riley’s 86 and Shellenberger’s 92 were enough to make it. On a day like this, scores aren’t as important as making the cut. For Riley, this continues his tradition of state golf and will be his third appearance in as many years. For Shellenberger, this is senior-year redemption. Last year he missed the cut by one stroke. The two will take to the links next Monday at the Salina Municipal Golf Course and test their skills against the best of 5A.
