Resurfacing to begin on U.S. 50 in Gray County
According to the Kansas Department of Transportation, a highway resurfacing project is expected to start the week of April 21 along U.S. 50 from the Finney/Gray county line east to the west city limits of Cimarron.
U.S. 50 will be reduced to one lane in smaller sections as work takes place on the 17.9-mile project area. Motorists should expect delays of up to 15 minutes as flaggers and a pilot car direct one-lane traffic through the work zone. The lane reduction will be marked by signs and cones. U.S. 50 will be open to normal traffic when construction is not taking place.
Venture Corporation, of Great Bend, is the contractor on this $2.9 million project. Weather permitting, it is expected to be completed by mid-June.
