Resurfacing to begin on K-27 in Stanton/Morton counties

According to the Kansas Department of Transportation, a highway resurfacing project is expected to start the week of April 21 along multiple sections of K-27 from the Morton/ Stanton county line north to the K-27/K-51 north junction and from the K-51/K-27 south junction south to the U.S. 56/K-27 intersection.

K-27 will be reduced to one lane in smaller sections as work takes place on the 30.2-mile project area. Motorists should expect delays of up to 15 minutes as flaggers and a pilot car direct one-lane traffic through the work zone. The lane reduction will be marked by signs and cones. K-27 will be open to normal traffic when construction is not taking place.

Dustrol Inc., of Towanda, is the contractor on this $5.1 million project. Weather permitting, it is expected to be completed by the end of July.
