Pink uniforms didn’t hurt the “mojo” of the Liberal Redskins. On a night when both LHS varsity teams wore pink for breast cancer awareness, the Redskins beat Hays 57-36 in front of a large homecoming crowd in the “Big House.” Before the game head coach Drew Gruver asked LHS Athletic Director Scott Hinkle jokingly if he could change uniforms at the half if things weren’t going well. But Liberal led 18-6 after a quarter and 33-15 at the half. The Redskins (13-3, 3-2) would lead by as many 24 in the fourth quarter. Jade Cathey led a balanced attack with 13 points while Kevin Livingston added 12. Berakah Carter scored 10 including two three pointers. Hays falls to 11-6 overall and 3-2 in the WAC.
