Redskins Take Down TMP

The Liberal soccer team found some offense Thursday in Hays. The Redskins, who had scored two non penalty kick goals the previous six games, scored more than enough in a 7-2 win over Thomas More Prep Thursday.

Samuel Cruz scored four goals to lead Liberal who wins their second straight and stands 3-4 overall. Junior Mendez and Jonathan Delval, and Pedro Lara added goals. Mendez scored his goal on a penalty kick. Lara scored his goal off a rebound from the TMP goalie after a Jason Rios PK. Esteban Michel dished two assists while Pablo Medrano, Marcos Camacho, and Jason Rios added assists.

Liberal hosts Wichita North Saturday afternoon at Redskin Field. The varsity game begins at 3 p.m. after the 1 p.m. JV game. National Beef bought out the game so admission is free.
