Redskins Take 2nd at Salina

Nick Rotolo

Liberal boys golf  got off to a strong start with a team score of 322 and a second place finish at Salina Municipal.

Kale Miller in his first high school tournament finished tied for 2nd with a 73. Skyler Hubbard finished tied for 8th with an 80 after a 3rd place finish in the same tournament last year. Hudson Rice shot a personal best with an 84 and finished 14th. Aron Rivas in his first varsity tournament shot a personal best 85 and finished 18th. Rounding out the team was Landon Martinez with a 90, Blayden Betts 93, Rylin Roehr 104, and Reed Roehr 126.

Proud of all the boys and their improvements they have made from last year to this year. They all had to battle through some difficult stretches and last year would have resulted in a lot higher scores, but they stayed with it and held the round together and finished strong. Next Monday at Auburn Hills in Wichita will be a big challenge as the course is very difficult, but look forward to seeing the boys continue to compete and show their improvement.
