Redskins Sweep Goodland

Liberal won their sixth in a row after sweeping Goodland 7-2 and 6-2 at the Liberal Baseball Complex Tuesday. In game one, Austin Pitts worked a complete game allowing six hits. Pitts was 2-2 at the plate while Brandon Granger was 2-3 with a double. LHS out-hit the Cowboys 7-6. Both teams committed two errors a piece. In game two, freshman Dustin Loftis pitched four innings for the win. Kyle Potts worked two effective innings and Tyson Deaton worked a scoreless seventh. Liberal scored three in the fourth when Potts singled, Jose Pondo doubled, and Austin Pitts tripled. The Skins scored three more in the sixth when Pondo singled, Deaton doubled, and Morris doubled. LHS out-hit the Cowboys 8-7. Goodland had two errors while LHS had one. Liberal is 11-7 and hosts Scott City Thursday at 4 p.m. for their last regular season games.
