Redskins Sweep Colby

The Liberal High School baseball team took two in Colby Friday afternoon. The Redskins won 13-5 and 5-4 to improve to 9-5.
In game one, LHS scored one in the second and four in the third to lead 5-0 before the Eagles plated a run in the third. LHS scored twice in the fourth and one in the fifth to lead 8-1. The Skins tacked on five in the seventh before Colby scored four. LHS had 13 runs on 13 hits and one error while the Eagles had five runs on six hits. Jared Hasik pitched six innings with seven strikeouts and allowed just three hits and one run. He was 2-3 with two runs at the plate. Lorenzo Pando was 3-3 with two RBI’s and two runs. Angel Archuletta was 2-4 with two RBI’s and Cristian Erives was 2-3 with two RBI’s.
In game two, Stevie Lira pitched the complete game in the tight win. Lira allowed four hits and two earned runs. Colby scored first with two in the second but the Skins struck for a four spot in the third. Sylman Pando ripped a three RBI double. Colby tied the game in the fifth with two but Lorenzo Pando’s game winning RBI in the sixth was the difference. Pando was 2-3 and 5-6 on the day. LHS had five runs on 10 hits and two errors and Colby had four runs on four hits.
The Redskins are 9-5 and host Dodge City Tuesday at 4 for Senior Recognition.
