Redskins Survive Cold Shooting Night to Beat Panthers

Liberal survived another home scare. For the third straight home game, Liberal struggled against inferior competition but still found a way to win. The Redskins won their homecoming game 45-40 in their pink uniforms Saturday night in the Big House.

Liberal led 10-7 after one quarter and were tied a 19 at the half before leading 35-29 after three quarters.

Liberal shot just 31 percent making just 12-39 from the field. LHS was 2-13 from three point range and 19-27 at the foul line.

Mershek Wiltshire and Hayden Coker scored 11 a piece. Wiltshire made both of Liberal’s three pointers.

Liberal is 12-6 and 3-3 in the WAC while the Panthers dip to 2-17 and 0-7 in the WAC. Liberal plays at Garden City Tuesday night at about 7:45 on 1270 and kscbnews.net.
