Redskins Shock Number One Blue Valley West

Without one of the most talented players in the state Eduardo Moreno, the third ranked 5A Liberal Redskins shocked the #1 class 6A Blue Valley West Jaguars Friday afternoon in Maize. Liberal scored a goal with three minutes left to break a 2-2 tie. Hector Mata scored a goal and dished two assists for the Redskins. Isai Gutierrez and Auden Portillo also found the back of the net. Liberal is 6-1 and plays Wichita North at 11 a.m. Saturday in Wichita.
