Redskins Secure Two Wins Over Scott City

Winless Scott City may have been just what the doctor ordered for Liberal’s baseball team. Liberal took two over the Beavers 10-0 and 15-4 Tuesday at the National Beef Family Sports Complex. Both games went six innings.

In game one, the Redskins scored two in the first, three in the second, two in the fourth, two in the fifth, and one in the sixth. Cole Evans and Stevie Lira pitched three scoreless innings a piece. LHS out hit Scott 13-2 but LHS had two errors. Timothy Fitzgerald was 4-5 with two RBI’s while Jared Hasik was 2-3 with two RBI’s, Evans was 2-3 with a triple and two RBI’s, and Kaiden Long was 2-4 with a double and an RBI.

In game two, the Skins scored six in the first, one in the third, three in the fourth, and five in the sixth. LHS had three errors so none of the Beaver runs were earned. Tucker Deaton pitched the first three innings and Kaleb Wilmes pitched the final three. Evans was 2-5 with a three run homer over the left field fence to end the game. Fitzgerald was 2-4, Long was 2-2 with a triple, Jacob Mettlen was 2-3 , and Kaiden Bighamd was 2-4.

Liberal is 6-4 and the Beavers are 0-9. LHS hosts Alva Saturday at 1.
