Redskins Rally to Drop Dodge City

The Liberal Redskins scored five runs in the seventh to stun the Dodge City Red Demons in front of a big crowd at Demon Field Friday night. LHS won 5-2 to sweep DCHS this season. The Demons scored one in the first and one in the fifth against starter Cole Evans who last 4.66 innings. Tucker Deaton worked 1.33 innings for the win. Jared Hasik worked a perfect seventh for the save. Liberal scored all five in the seventh thanks in large part to four Dodge City errors. None of Liberal’s runs were earned. Although Alex Carrillo was 2-2 and made it on base all three times. Jacob Mettlen made it on two of four times. The Demons out hit LHS 5-4 but Dodge had five errors. Liberal wins their 10th straight game and is 14-4 overall and 4-2 in the WAC. Dodge City is 5-9 and 0-8 in the WAC. Liberal hosts Hays Tuesday at 2 with Redskin Pre-game at 1:45 on 1270 and kscbnews.net.
