Redskins Push Top Team in Eastern Kansas

The Liberal soccer team gave the top seed in class 6A east all they wanted.  After a win Friday over Blue Valley, the Redskins pushed the Olathe East Hawks.  But Olathe East defeated Liberal 2-1 Saturday morning and afternoon at Dodge City Memorial Stadium.  The Hawks scored on a header six minutes into the game.  East scored again with eight minutes remaining in the half.  George Tejeda found the back of the net with a Josh Garcia assist with 28 minutes left.  Liberal hit multiple posts and cross bars when attempting to tie the game.  Olathe East is 11-3.  Liberal is 7-4-3.  The Redskins play at Great Bend Tuesday at about 6:30.
