Redskins Place Third in Maize

Liberal’s wrestling team placed third out of 12 teams at the Maize wrestling tournament on Saturday. Dodge City was first and Emporia was second. Liberal finished ahead of Lawrence, Andale, Goddard Eisenhower, Maize, Maize South, McPherson, Pratt, and Shawnee Heights.

Individually Victor Monarrez at 195 and Sergio Borjas at 285 won first place. Payton Grant took second at 220, Payton Yancey at 132 and Chris Boman at 170 took third while Greg McClurg was fourth at 138.

The Redskins wrestle at Woodward Tuesday.
