Redskins Baseball Splits in Alva

The Liberal baseball team played their first of four in Alva on Thursday.  The Redskins won handily over Newkirk 9-1 and lost in a blowout to Alva 17-1.

In game one, the Redskins scored in every inning.  LHS had one in the first, three in the second, one in the third, one in the fourth, and three in the fifth.  Syris Dunlap was 2-4 with three runs.  Brodie Warren pitched five innings without allowing an earned run.  He struck out six and walked three.

In game two, the Alva Goldbugs jumped all over the pitching strapped Skins for five in the fourth and nine in the sixth.  Liberal had just three hits and made five errors.  LHS allowed 17 hits.

The Redskins are 8-4 and play Perry and Crossings Christian Friday in Alva.
