Redskin Standout Evans Picks Seward

Liberal’s Cole Evans will stay home.  Evans will play baseball at Seward.  Evans made the decision official with a ceremony at Liberal High School Friday afternoon.  Evans plays first base and pitched for the 13-5 Redskins and has been dominant this season.  He is hitting .475 with five homers and 28 RBI’s and is 6-1 with a 1.25 ERA with 58 strikeouts and 13 walks.  Evans also drew interest from Emporia State and others.  Cole has 10 home runs in his LHS career which is the school record.  Evans and the Redskins begin play in the regional tournament at Maize on Wednesday at 2 against Goddard Eisenhower.  If the Skins win, they play at 6 against the winner of Maize and Great Bend.  The games will air on 1270 and kscbnews.net.
