Redskin Baseball Splits Maize Road Trip

The Liberal baseball Redskins went 1-1 on their trip to Maize on Saturday afternoon.  The Skins knocked off Maize South 2-1 but lost to Maize 6-2.

In game one, Braxton Hyde pitched a complete game with eight strikeouts and one walk.  He allowed just four hits.  The Redskins scored two in the first.  Elijah McCarter and Javier Bojorquez both scored runs in the first.  Liberal only had two hits.  The Mavericks scored in the fourth.

The Redskins played the Maize Eagles in their second game.  Maize is a perennial 5A power and played in state last year.  Maize scored two in the first and three in the second.  The Redskins plated two in the third before Maize scored another in the third.  Brodie Warren pitched three scoreless innings for the Redskins.  The Eagles out-hit the Redskins 8-4 while LHS committed three errors.

The Redskins are 4-1 and host Great Bend on Friday at 4 with Redskin Pre-game at 3:45 on 1270 and kscbnews.net.
