Rattlers Drop Opening Game at Regional

The bats were silent and the defense struggled in an opening loss at the Midwest Plains Regional. Wayne County, Missouri, the wild card from the Show Me State beat the Kansas state champion Rattlers 6-0 Friday night in Junction City. The Rattlers allowed four unearned runs in the first. Liberal had three hits and three errors in the loss. Braxton Hyde pitched three innings and did not allow an earned run. Kaleb Wilmes pitched three. Cesar Burciaga was the MVP with a 1-3 day and Brodie Warren win the WOW with a fine catch of a line drive and then stepped on third for a double play. Liberal is 31-6 and plays the East Twins from Minnesota Saturday at 5.  Minnesota lost 3-2 Border, Colorado.
