Preliminary Hearing Continues for Suspects in Oklahoma Double Murder Case

A preliminary hearing took place Tuesday morning for Tad Cullum and Cole Twombly, who were accused in the murders of Jillian Kelley and Veronica Butler earlier this year.

Tifany Adams, also charged in the case, waived her right to the hearing and left the courtroom. She also waived her right to a speedy trial, according to court records.

The three are among five individuals charged with kidnapping and killing Kelley and Butler, who were reported missing on March 30.

The two women were traveling from Kansas to Oklahoma to pick up Butler’s children for a birthday party. Their bodies were discovered on April 14, buried in a freezer.

In addition to murder and kidnapping charges, Adams, Cullum, and Twombly face two counts each of unlawful removal of a dead body and unlawful desecration of a human corpse.

Cole Twombly’s wife, Cora Twombly, has waived her preliminary hearing and her right to a speedy trial.

Her next court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 19, alongside the final suspect, Paul Grice.
