The Seward County Saints continued to sink deeper into the Jayhawk Conference basement with a 65-52 loss to the Pratt Beavers Saturday afternoon and evening in the Pratt Beaver Dome. Pratt had lost seven in a row and hadn’t won since December 14. Seward falls to 2-14 in the Jayhawk. Cloud is 4-12. Pratt is now 5-10.
Seward only mustered 17 first half points as Pratt took a 31-17 lead at intermission after a rugged first half for both teams offensively. The Saints played better in the second half outscoring the Beavers 35-34.
Seward shot 35 percent from the field making 3-10 from three and just 9-19 from the foul line. Pratt shot 48 percent from the field making 7-17 from three and 12-17 at the free throw line. Seward out-rebounded Pratt 34-27. Both teams had eight turnovers.
Loic Affouman continues his improvements with 10 points and 12 rebounds earning him Epic Touch Player of the Game honors. Muhammed Jobe added 13.
Pratt is 9-12 overall and 5-10 in the KJCCC. Seward falls to 3-18 and 2-14 in the Jayhawk. Seward hosts Dodge City Saturday afternoon and evening at 4pm on 107.5.
