Plenty of Positives in Day 1 for LHS Wrestling at State

Liberal’s wrestling team competed on the first day of state at Overland Park Friday.  Four LHS boys and eight LHS girls participated.  These wrestlers will advance to day two in pursuit of a spot in the third place match: Julian Orrantia, Oscar Pablo, Zayden Norez, Keirsie Carlile, Genesis Orrantia, Isabela Gutierrez, Evelyn Sandoval, and Aileen Figueroa.  Hayleen Martinez will compete for the championship on Saturday.  Julian Orrantia secured his 100th career win in the first round.
