Perryton Man Involved in Texas Panhandle Accident

A 65-year-old Stratford man is dead and two more people were hurt in a head-on crash on FM 281 in Moore County.

The Texas Department of Transportation said the crash happened at about 4.5 miles west of Etter.

The preliminary investigation determined that James Ball, of Stratford, was driving a 2018 Toyota Tundra eastbound on FM 281 and 36-year-old Leonard Campbell, of Perryton, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado westbound.

Ball was driving at unsafe speeds for the road conditions before going into the westbound lane and hitting the Silverado head-on.

Ball was pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the crash.

Campbell was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The passenger in the Chevrolet, 44-year-old Claudio Bustillos-Diaz of Perryton, was also taken to an area hospital with serious injuries.
