On Friday, June 21st, 2013 at about 9:57 p.m., emergency responders were called to 15th and Cottonwood for a report of an injury accident involving a pedestrian.

Investigating officers found that a 28 year old male ran across 15th Street at Cottonwood Avenue when he was struck by a blue, 1991 Oldsmobile that was traveling east on 15th Street. The 54 year old male driver was uninjured.

The pedestrian had disabling injuries and was taken to Southwest Medical Center by Seward County EMS. He was later transported to Wesley Medical Center for treatment. He has since been released.

Evidence suggests that the pedestrian was under the influence of alcohol. Charges against him are pending.
