According to the Kansas Department of Transportation, a pedestrian and bike path project has started on U.S. 56 from West City Limits St. to South Coulter Dr., in Hugoton.
U.S. 56 will be reduced to two lanes, marked by signs and cones. The westbound lanes will shift to the eastbound traffic as the contractor works through the project. Motorists can expect a reduction in speed limit and minimal traffic delays through the work zone. Access to all businesses along the corridor will remain open.
Multicon Inc., of Park City, is the contractor on this $580,671.01 project. Weather permitting, it is expected to be completed by late spring 2025.
